安全標識符(SID)用來識別用戶、組和電腦帳戶的不同長度的資料結構。在第一次創建該帳戶時,將給網路上的每一個帳戶發佈
一個唯一的 SID。Windows 中的內部進程將引用帳戶的 SID 而不是帳戶的用戶名或組名。

用戶帳戶通過用戶名和密碼來標識。用戶名是帳戶的文本標籤。密碼是帳戶的身份驗證字符串。雖然 Windows NT 顯示用戶名
來說明特權和權限,但帳戶的關鍵標識符是 SID(安全標識符)。SID 是創建帳戶時產生的唯一標識符。Windows NT 使用 
SID,獨立於用戶名之外來跟蹤帳戶。 

SID 有很多用途,其中最重要的是使您可輕鬆更改用戶名以及刪除帳戶,而不用擔心有人通過重新創建帳戶的方式來獲得對資
源的訪問權限。 

更改用戶名時,您告訴 Windows NT 將特定 SID 映射到這一新用戶名。刪除帳戶時,您告訴 Windows NT 該特定 SID 已不再有
效。即使以後創建具有相同用戶名的帳戶,新帳戶也不會具有相同的特權和權限。這是因為新帳戶將有一個新 SID
